The significance of data storage and the latest advancements in the IT industry will be the topic of discussion next April in Santa Clara, Calif.

According to a press release by the Storage Networking Industry Association, the first Data Storage Innovation Conference will be held next year to discuss the latest trends in data growth and new innovations in the field. The target audience will include storage practitioners, IT decision-makers, software engineers, vendors, resellers and technology consultants – people and entities that are expected to "implement and support data storage innovation as actual production solutions" in the coming years.

DSI will host various presentations that will provide insight into new and evolving technologies such as software defined storage, big data, the cloud and an array of other aspects pertaining to data management, protection and network-connected storage. The conference's agenda will highlight the latest updates to existing storage solutions and provide deployment blueprints, case studies and best practices to those who attend.

"If you are a technical leader in IT or tasked with turning technology innovation into business value for your organization, DSI is the must-attend conference for you," said SNIA chairman David Dale. "DSI identifies the latest IT and storage technology innovations, examines the challenges and opportunities you most frequently face, and offers practical solutions from leading vendors, consultants and innovative IT end-users."

SNIA hopes to provide attendees with a learning experience by offering vendor-neutral tutorials on data storage, especially as it plays a larger role in businesses and IT.
